Last summer I spent a small fortune on dried lavender to make up sachets (which I never did do), and it seemed silly because I have a big bush of lavender in my front garden.   I’m getting wise in my old age – I have been harvesting my lavender, and I hope to have a nice little pile ‘o’ dried lavender to make more sachets if I ever get around to it.   It’s entirely possible that I will sit down and sew one of these days.   Do not roll your eyes.

I am harvesting lavender too, Nadine, but for use in soap. My harvest isn’t quite as large as yours though, I’m afraid.

I used to have about 500 lavender plants on the side of a mountain, lol, but now just a few mother plants in the garden.

You can purchase draw string bags on the internet or in a wedding supply store. Make a funnel out of rolled cardboard or get a wider mouth one from the auto section and start filling your sachets.

Who would ever roll their eyes at YOU little Miss Crafty-Pants. 🙂

Harvesting lots of lavender here too. We have 10 plants and so we are definitely not in short supply. 🙂 Sadly, I don’t sew.

Lavender is a beautiful smell. Sachets are a great idea, smart lady!
