On the last day of November, we kicked off December.  For weeks, Debbie and I have been planning our day in the woods at Sloans Christmas Tree Village – you may remember last year’s trip in the woods documented here.  Debbie had the dijon mustard covered, the Christmas tunes, and a big pot of chili while I had the marshmallows and multiple litres of apple cider packed.   Four hours in the woods with friends, laughing, eating, roasting, playing, talking, walking, stoking the fire, and taking pictures.  It was as magical and amazing as I imagined it would be.  We rolled back into town after dark as we recounted our favourite parts.

This is what I want to remember about the holidays – not hours spent in malls shopping.  As we did last year, we’ll be celebrating the season by spending time with each other.  Just some of the things we have planned include:

Suffice it to say, we’ve got lots going on.  Thankfully I’ve also got two weeks of vacation to look forward to at the end of the month.  I’m anticipating many low-key pyjama days, lots of soup, baking and recovering.   So let the fun begin!

The hot dog smile pic is hysterical!
