sand + water

We made it to the beach, and we soaked up what is left of the summer.  The optimist in me thinks we should be able to squeeze at least one more visit if we try hard enough.  I remember a visit in October last year.   It’s not necessary that we be able to swim – just sit in the sand and enjoy the sound of the waves and the seagulls and allow the sun to shine down on us.  Knit.  Read.  Catch up.   And I love any excuse to pack a picnic.   Today’s picnic was extra fabulous because we bought our first  box of produce from the Food Box Project, and we are flush with fresh local/fair trade/organic fruit and vegetables.  If you live in my neck of the woods, I highly-highly recommend this community food initiative.

Three days until school starts.  I need sandwich bags.  And two giant tubs of ice cream.  And that, my friends, is my long-weekend agenda.
