Over the (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend, we had a rare day in which the four of us were together to share a meal and and enjoy each other’s company. Originally we planned a full pajama-turkey-eating day, but it was too beautiful outside to stay inside in our pajamas.  Once the turkey was cooked and the bread baked, we took off for a quick hike around Westminster Ponds to take in the sound of crunchy leaves underfoot, enjoy the juxtaposition of bright and dull fall colours, breathe in the fresh air, and soak up the sunshine. Needless to say, we worked up an appetite, and we were rewarded with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, squash, corn, carrots, gravy and cranberry sauce.  The bread was left untouched – no room for it.  Secretly we were all saving room for pumpkin pie and freshly whipped cream.  It turns out that the Bee has discovered a love for pumpkin pie which gives us hope that one day she will eat more than rice, noodles, and all things white and bland.
